About The Role
Inbound Operations handles the relationship between providers, carriers, and FCs to ensure that cargo is picked up on time and delivered to the FC on the agreed date. Trans Ops Inbound Specialists address all potential issues that arise during the pickup-to-delivery lifecycle.
Outbound Operations deals with the relationship between the FC, carrier, and carrier hub to ensure that trucks depart from the FC to deliver customer orders as promised. Outbound transportation specialists address all potential issues that arise during the lifecycle of cargo as it departs from the FC and arrives at the customer’s premises.
Responsibilities:
Trans Ops personnel must be motivated to generate ideas for improving processes and see them through.
Liability includes, but is not limited to:
· Communicating with external customers (shipping companies, vendors/suppliers) and internal customers (retail, finance, software support, fulfillment centers)
· Must be able to resolve problems and conflicts in a systematic manner. Escalates information and data to appropriate owners and teams and executes to ensure decisions are implemented.
· Excellent communication, both verbal and written, required to develop written narratives outlining weekly results and deviations from goals and present these results in evaluation forums.
Education Requirement
- Bachelor Degree
Skills Requirement
1) 12-24 months of professional experience.
2) Excellent Communication Skills – Trans Ops Representatives facilitate the flow of information between external individuals.
3) Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup)
4) Proven ability to work in a team in a highly dynamic environment.
